The design of the Shadow Truss rim is focused around the same principles as modern bridge design in architecture. Considering the effects of compression as well as tension, the Shadow Truss rim is designed as a very rigid structure and one that transfers the load from a single point to a considerably wider area. With 120 points of engagement, the Definitive Cassette features a 3 pawl engagement system that uses 4 notches on each pawl for almost instant power transfer. The sleek and low-profile hub shell is CNC’d from 6061-T6 alloy, with precision bearings, 7075 hardware, and printed logos.
